Case Studies

Detached House / Single Storey ExtensioN

The client for this chalet style house was happy with the first floor arrangement but wanted to improve the compartmentalised ground floor layout whilst retaining it’s “cottage charm”. Our solution was an ornate extension to replace the existing additions and to include twin bay roofs dressed with bonnet hip tiles, large scale folding sliding doors, a vaulted ceiling with oak rafters, a bespoke kitchen with large island and a separate snooker room.

The house was set within the green belt and we negotiated with planners to exceed the generally accepted volume allowances for extensions. Following the receipt of planning approval we tendered and negotiated with contractors and administered the construction works.

Semi-Detached House / Loft Conversion

The owners of this 3 bedroom semi-detached house wanted to provide an additional bedroom and ensuite. This was to be connected to,  but secluded from, the distractions of family life. Our proposal included the provision of a master suite within the loft space facilitated by the extension of the existing hipped roof to a gable end and the addition of a rear dormer. The dormer was dressed with a pitched roof to harmonise with the house and aluminium windows added to provide a contemporary feel.

The internal fixtures and finishings were specified to a high standard giving a luxury hotel feel. The scheme was carried out under “Permitted Development” to reduce planning risk and the structure designed as braced timber to avoid Party Wall issues.

Detached House / Two Storey Extension

This house was neglected for some time before our client took occupation. With a growing family their brief was to provide both open plan living accommodation together with more private areas both at ground and first floor. They also wished to add interest to a bland rear exterior. Our solution was a two storey extension stepped between ground and first floors and incorporating bays, a cat slide section roof and a dormer to provide interest to the façade.

Detached House / Multiple Extensions

The client wished to rationalise their existing ground floor layout, whilst improving the bedroom and bathing arrangements at first floor. Our scheme incorporated a part single, part two storey rear extension and a two storey side extension, associated landscaping and decking. We assisted with the procurement of the contract works and worked closely with the Main Contractor for the construction phase.
